William
E. Cowger, an award winning freelance photographer from Troy, Michigan,
captures images that portray complete concepts (a process he refers to as
‘Imagineering’).
In 1999, after 30+ years in the computer industry, he decided he
really wants to be a National Geographic Photographer when he grows up.
Since then, his passion for the art of photography has become his
reality. Over
the last 5 years he has embarked on photo assignments in Africa (twice),
Europe (5 times), Costa Rica, the Southwestern US (twice), the Western (3
times), the Northwestern and
Northeastern US. While
all the travel provides wonderful photographic opportunities, the greatest
benefit of all is looking for and finding beauty in our everyday
surroundings. It’s
so easy to miss, and yet so easy to find. Look for it !
Until
September 2001, 90% of all shots were taken on film, and since that time
90% of all shots are captured on digital film using Canon equipment.
Captured images may be modified for color balance, contrast, and
burning/dodging only to the extent of reproducing what the human eye
observed. There
are no manipulations of the truth such as adding or subtracting items in
any image. All
prints are digitally produced on the best archival paper that is available
and they have a life expectancy of 80+ years when displayed under glass in
a location that does not receive direct sunlight.
Mr.
Cowger is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the
Professional Photographers of Michigan. Acacia Photography, Inc.
is a member of the Troy Chamber of Commerce in Michigan, and the
Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce in Michigan.
